After attempting to install Glob2 on my linux (SuSE 10.1 x86_64), I discovered that there are no 64-bit versions of glob2. What does it take to rebuild it with the 64-bit dependencies (specifically, libsdl_image)?

I run 32-bit FC5 and was thinking of changing to 64-bit ubuntu. I thought the 64-bit OS's could run 32-bit apps.

In general, they can without problem. Its the libsdl stuff that always gets me hung up. Grr.
can't you force it?

I've never used suse before so I really don't know anything about it but it might help if I knew how you were installing it. Are you using a RPM, a DEB package or compiling from source. If your using an RPM or DEB you can usually specify force architecture to get around that.

The same dependency problem occurs from source or the RPM version. What do you mean by specify force architecture?

I'm starting to get it to build - I was being rather dumb and was missing some devel packages. I'm starting a new topic in the help forum...
