how should I make a map so that the wheat grows faster?

the growth rate is proportional to the amount of water in the surrounding square 15 tiles in each direction and to the neighboring wheat at distance 1 each diagonally and straight.

yes I think it would be nice to be able to modify fertility too...even directly from the editor...could create interesting new maps, I think...
So what is the best way of redding of wheat?
is it ::::: or xxx??

as the no-grow area from the editor gives no visual feedback to the user that there will never ever grow anything, i would like to either remove it or give it some visual feedback as now people will try to extend their fields into areas nothing will grow on.
there is no opposite like a max-grow area implemented yet.

that's what would be good, a max grouth area :D :D
as of now, resources tend to end, so high growth areas in the strategic points of the map would be cool :D
