Voice communication?

Post by neljandik »

Hi

Can I use voice communication in the LAN game, and if so, then how?

I created a LAN game with two players on one side. On Alliances screen, there says: "V: hold to speak". When I did it, a blue icon appeared on the down left corner of the screen, but when I talked into the microphone, I couldn't hear anything from my teammate's computer speakers. I also tried Shift-V, but that didn't work either. My microphone is working properly.

What should I do?

Could somebody at least tell me if this is how it should work? Or is the voice communication even possible?

Voice chat on mac and windows in beta3 doesn't work. Voice chat on linux in beta 3 works only under certain conditions.

However, with beta4, there is a new voice chat lib which should help a lot (3rd party, more regularly updated).

Beta4 will hopefully be out soon. Stay tuned.....
