it looks like mercurial is more up to date...

what is used for development? Both?

and perhaps note this at the wiki at

actually i thought cvs was switched off as we use hg only now.

Mercurial is indeed the latest SCMS we are using. You can get the latest code by running

hg clone http://hg.globulation2.org/glob2/
