People have suggested priorities many times in the past. It's a needless complication. If you want to divert workers from other tasks, simply cut back on the other tasks.

Donkyhotay: True enough. Also, an explorer with enough experience can hurt warriors (it takes a LOT of experience though.) I was speaking in generalities.

- Explorers can't hurt warriors currently. Taking donkyhotay's suggestion literally, the explorers would only be able to hurt workers.
- Why, really? Whence cometh this conviction that the ability to fight back is always necessary?

Even though destroying workers is game winning in itself, buildings are *much* more vulnerable. Repairing a building is almost too difficult to ever be worth it. I would be inclined to go with level 2+ towers attack air, level 1 towers attack only ground, advanced towers gaining more range, and expl...

Castor (a bit stronger)
Nicowar (stronger than castor even)

Clearing area doesn't work well in this case. If the building is up against some trees, no glob will be going around that side of the building, so no one will clear it. I usually use a clearing flag.

Yes, except that you don't see me on Gate 88 anymore, because there's no PPC Linux version of Gate 88. Sheesh...

It would confuse an unsuspecting newbie EITHER WAY, and there is no significant disadvantage to the proposed system.

I used walls against an opponent in a recent multiplayer game, to bog down their warriors. Unfortuantely their warriors were totally incompetent and many of the walls weren't even destroyed. :P

Yes, we always appreciate algorithm improvements; have a look at the code and you'll see what we have to deal with. :P

The ML is more active. Few online games happen - they're about as frequent as forum posts, I think. :|

Re: guiDisable(Globule) ignored?

Incidentally, has anyone worked out the growth rules for trees, wheat, algae, papyrus? Doing long test runs on throwaway maps to try and get usable info is getting tedious. Worked out? No, we looked them up in the source. Trying to work them out would be almost as bad as reverse-engineering the who...
