There were some problems with compilation but these have been resolved and a23 has been successfully compiled for windows. It shouldn't be too long for us to get the binary file uploaded onto the website.

wheat/wood require water to grow. If your resources are too far away from water or if there is no water on the map nothing will grow. There has been talk of adding a building that creates water to increase growing areas but nothing has happened so far.

The glob2 site was down for almost a month and I'm pretty certain thats what has slowed up glob2 traffic in general.

There has been alot of talk about when a new release will come out. There have been alot of major fixes/features implemented since the last release and many people want to release however more testing needs to be done and there has been talk of doing a complete rewrite of the network implementation....

Yes allowing explorers to attack buildings could easily be done, it would actually be a reversion though. Originally explorers could hit both units and buildings and were overpowering. They were so powerful the game was little more then rushing to level 3 schools and then swarming with explorers. Si...

I was thinking about this though, if we did set up an AI to farm for people we will need to make certain it doesn't take away too much from the game. I mean people need to have SOMETHING to do while playing the game.

This sounds like a good idea, I was thinking it might be best to have an "auto-farm" toggle off to the side that players can use to activate/deactivate a special AI that farms for you when active.

As mentioned, this is all irrelevant as the default values can be changed for all buildings/flags on solo only games as of 0.8.21 and the latest CVS version is capable of changing the values for LAN/internet games without crashing.

That would be a good idea and shouldn't be too hard. Depending on how the gradient is programmed we should be able to tie it's output over into the new map overlays and create a new overlay that shows likely-hood of growing wheat or trees.

Probably be a good idea to configure prestige level when the game itself is set up . I think it's a good idea and it shouldn't be hard to implement, I'll post a features request in the bugtracker. If no one gets around to it before the term ends for me I may see about implementing the feature myself.
