Yeah, but no worries, based on the errors gcc gave me I apparently don't remember the syntax of anything class related. I'll have to go back and remind myself how to do this, and just thought I'd post to let everyone know that if it gets left to me you'll be waiting a while.

Has development and interest in glob2 stalled?

Last released version: 0.8.21 on August 8, 2006 I didn't check the forums for almost a month and when I checked back there was a single thread with one reply. Does this mean development on Globulation 2 is stalling, that there have been no major improvements (has the net-flag error been fixed yet?),...

So I thought I remembered C++ better than this :P I followed the instructions on the wiki, tried compiling, and hit a ton of gcc errors for things I was pretty sure were correct  Now school is happening again and I have no free time :( So basically someone with more coding experience should d...

Awesome! Since the towers got rebalanced, no one had been able to beat it, although I think we were all using defensive stragegies. Way to think out of the box!

heh, probably not an hour for me because my C++ isn't very good yet, I only learned recently and haven't had the chance to use it much.

I will do my best over winter break (next week)

Tfry, I like your idea, maybe use the same icon as a flag for the area's selectable portion? Maybe there could be a simple vs advanced mode, simple where it behaves like a flag, and an advanced mode where it is treated as a movable area with adjustable options? That would probably seem more intuitiv...

yeah, the number of level 4 schools you need to win most games is way too high, its not a viable route to victory.

Sounds like its just a problem with your glx.

A known workaround is to delete your ~/.glob2/preferences.txt file (in linux)
or the preferences.txt in your glob2 folder (in windows)

Then why in an older version ( I'll try to figure out which one it was) did I have a game with over 2000 units (it was a contest between me an d a friend to see who could get the largest number of them)?

Civilization Globulation?

Now, seeing as I've never seen any mention of this anywhere, I'm going to assume that this has gone unnoticed, but Globulation 2 is also an excellent civilization-building game. Next time you win a game on a difficult map to build on, click keep playing and see how big you can make your civ. Yes, it...

I like that, it would be better for the average person if you could create a library of races, perhaps from within the preferences menu? and then be able to choose one of them or the default (the current) to play with for a game.
